Mission
Graceful Beginnings Exists to:
Serve the Lord and his daughters in birth.
Encourage women to seek Him first in their pregnancy, labor and delivery.
Come into community with each woman I have been called to serve.
Empower women as they take up the calling of motherhood and step into a new season of life.
Vision
Pregnancy is a journey. It is the appointed time for the Lord to prepare the heart, body, and soul. He is creating and tending to the mother that is becoming.
The mother-to-be gathers her community. She rests her feet. She nourishes her body because soon she will birth and be born. God has created her body for labor. God has created her to be a mother. She rests in this knowledge. She is confident and sure that He is in the details.
As labor begins, peace fills her soul. She feels the Lord surround her, she knows He is with her. The song of labor crescendos as the new baby announces their place in the world. There is a joy like no other. A thick heavenly aroma fills the room.
It is in these first few moments that the new mother also gets to reveal herself to the world. She is confident that the Lord will equip her for the calling of motherhood. She is rooted in the wisdom of the Lord.
In the following days the mother is surrounded by community. They help to nourish, support and protect her. They encourage her to lean into her God-given intuition. They respect the sacred time and space that is postpartum. There is peace and rest. It is a graceful beginning.
Beliefs
I believe in Jesus Christ. In his life. In his death. In his resurrection.
I believe that we have been saved through the blood of Jesus and have been given the free gift of salvation, having done nothing to earn it.
I believe that all wisdom and understanding is from the Lord.
I believe that birth work is a calling and a ministry.
I believe that as women we are called to come alongside women.
I believe that birth is sacred and should be treated as such.
I believe that God designed women to give birth, and we should pursue birth as he designed it.
I believe that home is the best place to pursue God’s design for birth.
I believe that God calls us to steward our bodies, especially through pregnancy and postpartum.
I believe in teaching women not telling women. I will come alongside you and walk with you in pregnancy and birth, but you get to make the decisions.
